Privacy Policy

GtaHomeSearch Inc. runs GTA Home Search. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your choices. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Who's responsible
Our privacy contact is responsible for how we handle personal information: Wintelekt, using the contact details at the end of this policy.
What we collect and why

We only collect what we need for these purposes. We don't sell personal information, and we don't sell leads.
Consent
By creating an account, posting a listing or sending an inquiry, you consent to the uses described here. You can withdraw consent by deleting your account or contacting us, though we may then be unable to provide the service, and we'll keep what the law requires us to keep.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the site, or when the law requires it:
- Stripe processes card payments.
- Hostinger hosts the site, database and email.
- OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service receives the address you enter on a listing, to place it on the map.
- Google Maps: when you view a map, your browser loads it directly from Google, which receives your IP address and handles it under Google's Privacy Policy.
- Wintelekt maintains the site for us, and can access its systems to do that.
- Advertisers receive the details you put in an inquiry.
- Authorities or legal advisers, when the law requires it or to protect people or our legal rights.
These providers may process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws and accessible to authorities there.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie, which keeps you logged in and protects forms. Visitors who don't log in or use a form with that protection don't receive it. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Pages with a map also load Google Maps, which may use its own storage in your browser.
We send account and transaction emails, such as email confirmations, password resets, payment confirmations and listing updates. We won't send you marketing email unless you've agreed to it, and any marketing email will have an unsubscribe link.
Security
We use encrypted connections, store passwords only in hashed form, and limit repeated login attempts. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we'll notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires, and we keep a record of all breaches.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, how we've used it and who we've shared it with, and ask us to correct it. You can edit your listings and delete your account yourself from your account page. We'll respond within 30 days.
Complaints
Please contact us first. If you aren't satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Accounts are for people 18 and older, and the site isn't aimed at children.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the date above. We'll tell account holders by email about significant changes.
